Beverly Anderson Hamilton, Ph.D., has spent 25 years building and stabilizing nonprofit organizations across Central Texas and beyond — as founder, interim executive, and fractional leader for more than three dozen organizations ranging from $350K to $5M in budget. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from UT Austin, where she will teach in spring 2027. After a decade in higher ed, she founded Austin Diaper Bank, growing it from an idea into a warehouse-scale nonprofit serving 5,000+ people a year.

That drive to improve things started early, as a fifteen-year-old lifeguard rewriting her pool's rotation schedule, then leading 100+ volunteers as Chair of the MSC Film Society at Texas A&M, then directing a summer camp during her masters degree. Early roles as a Project Coordinator and Program Manager taught her how large organizations actually run: policies, budgets, org charts and all.

Beyond fractional and interim executive work, Beverly is developing Building Community, a social enterprise to fill gaps in Austin's civic infrastructure. Mission Mondays are easy, hyperlocal gatherings where neighbors can meet and learn more about their community. Through Community By Design, cause-focused convenings, camps, and training to companies and nonprofits across Central Texas. A large part io this is Building Belonging, a flagship program pairing inclusive design with participants lead a variety of engagements as co-facilitators, including those with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities. Core question of this chapter: How can we increase the joy of human connection while doing good for all and weaving between the silos and structures?

As a lifelong learner, she’s added a Universal Design (CAST) certification to add to the Succession Planning Certificate (Third Sector Company), Ombuds Certificate (International Ombuds Association), Corporate Social Responsibility Certificate (Pepperdine), Nonprofit Financial Management Certificate (Nonprofit Austin ACC), & Executive Leadership Bootcamp (Mission Capital). She’s been lucky enough to work a number of amazing projects to teach her even more.
